Can one remove stretch marks for good?  It is entirely possible to make stretch marks less noticeable, but to completely eliminate them maybe somewhat of a challenge.  Stretch marks are permanent scars that are caused by tears within the middle layer of the skin, also known as the dermis.   This results in the loss of skin elasticity.

For many woman this can be very hard to deal with.  They may succeed in removing stretch marks to the point where they are not so noticeable, but may also reach a point where no further improvement can be seen.

Getting Rid Of Stretch Marks

So how can one eliminate these undesirable marks for good?  Today there are a ton of products on the market that claim to get rid of stretch marks, but they may only help to reduce there appearance a little.  Stretch mark creams are very common in use by many woman today.   Creams containing Retin-A and Tretinoin, may help to lower the appearance of these marks but may not help them to eliminate them completely.  They may not work on older marks that have been there for quite sometime, and those that have already faded from red.  Some precautions to take with these creams are to ensure that they are not used during breastfeeding and pregnancy.

Laser For Stretch Marks

Laser surgery is commonly used to lessen the severity of stretch marks.  Many woman have reported mixed results in the use of lasers to remove these marks.  A somewhat more successful technique is to use Microdermabrasion which has been highly successful in changing the appearance of stretch marks.  The downfall of these treatments is the cost.  They can be very expensive and should only be perfomed by a qualified doctor.

Another treatment that has been proven successful is a French treatment called Endermologie which claims it can reduce scarring.   It basically is a machine with rollers and a gentle suction that is used to exfoliate and massage the trouble some area.  The thing to keep in mind is that it may not remove these marks completely, but may do a good job at enhancing the overall appearance of your skin.
