Consuming a daily diet rich in these types of foods can really make a difference to obtaining healthy looking skin.
Best Stretch Marks Creams
Stretch mark creams can aid in strengthening the skins elasticity. These creams can help minimize and prevent the appearance of early stretch marks during pregnancy in areas such as the hips, thighs, breasts and abdomen.
Here is a list of the top stretch marks creams:
Mustela stretch mark cream – is a creamy and rich textured cream that is ideal for moisturizing the skin and for using it for a relaxing massage.
Palmers stretch mark cream – this cream is available with a special cocoa butter formula that helps prevent stretch marks with a combination of Vitamin E, Collagen, Cocoa Butter, and Elastin. It moisturizes the skin to help it maintain its moisture and natural elasticity.
Barmon stretch mark cream – this cream uses all natural ingredients. It is safe to use during pregnancy and can be applied during early months of a women’s pregnancy.
Cocoa butter and stretch marks – it can very useful to alleviate stretch marks because it can get into the top layer of your skin and penetrate into the dermis or the second layer of the skin. The ingredients within the cocoa butter will begin to restore the damaged areas of the skin. Well worth a try with little risk.
Revitol stretch mark- contains Vitamins E and A that will penetrate deeply into your skin in order to smooth and protect the tone of the skin. The cream contains powerful ingredients to help strengthen the skin and can penetrate into the deep layers of the skin.
This will help improve the collagen structure and increase the skin’s elasticity.
Microdermabrasion for stretch marks
Dermatologists and doctors have been using microdermabrasion for acne scars for a number of years. It basically involves using a fine powder or crystal to finely scrub away the top layer of the skin similar to how an exfoliating agent performs. The goal is to remove the top layer of skin which will in turn take away any imperfections or scarring to allow for the healthy skin cells below this surface to be revealed.
It is important to get a good understanding as to what stretch marks are and what causes them before undertaking this procedure.
The main cause of stretch marks is damage to the elastin of the skin. Elastin is responsible for allowing the skin to stay firm and bounce back after being stretched. When there is a lack of elastin present then this can result in stretch marks or sagging skin. This is why microdermabrasion may not be successful for stretch marks because it doesn’t address the damage to the elastin. Although this procedure may help reduce the appearance of stretch marks, they may not totally eliminate them if there is damage to the elastin.
This procedure basically is a scraping of the skin and may leave some redness even after the skin heals. One should carefully consider these precautions before considering this technique to remove stretch marks.
Laser Removal Of Stretch Marks
Laser removal for stretch marks is another method that may be used in extreme cases.
During a stretch marks laser removal treatment, the laser is used to injure the skin around the area of the stretch marks. The purpose of this is to allow for the skin’s natural healing process to work faster so that any damaged tissue starts to repair itself. The laser removal for stretch marks procedure activates the skin to start repairing everything in the area of the injury including the stretch marks.
Trilastin Treatments
Scientists created TriLASTIN to treat stretch marks by targeting the source of the problem. The advanced formula uses a custom blend of active ingredients to re-build collagen and elastin - the essential building blocks of the skin - and restore resiliency and suppleness through advanced moisturizing science.
Trilastin-sr was developed by scientists to aid in re-building the skin’s main building blocks - collagen and elastin. It helps in targeting the source of the problem. The more advanced formula of trilastin utilizes a custom blend of ingredients to produce elastin and collagen.
It can take up to 4 weeks of daily application to aid in reducing the appearance of new stretch marks or even existing ones.
The advantages of daily use include: more firm and tight skin, an increase in the skin’s elasticity to aid in the prevention of stretch marks in the future and more natural and supple looking skin.

In any stretch mark treatment, zinc is an essential supplement that should be taken to prevent stretch marks. Zinc is very important in the production of collagen, which aid in maintaining vibrant skin tone.
Collagen is responsible for keeping the skin tissues of the body together. It makes up approximately 80% of all connective tissue and is the most abundant structural protein. Collagen is found within 75% of the skin which makes up 90% of its overall volume. It is extremely hard to get stretch marks when the body is filled with enough collagen.
It is important to supplement with zinc to get enough collagen as it is not readily available in food. A great way to supplement with zinc is to take ZMA. ZMA, or zinc monomethionine aspartate and Magnesium Aspartate, is a supplement used by many athletes and body builders. It is a combination of zinc, magnesium and vitamin B6. ZMA is excellent in the prevention of stretch marks, as well as consisting of muscle building qualities. It can also be used as a sleep aid.
The only precaution in the use of ZMA is that it may produce acne. One should ask themselves if the elimination of stretch marks is more importan then getting acne.
Who Needs To Supplement With Zinc?
Zinc is an essential nutrient for human health. Teenagers and pregnant women have a higher need for this nutrient. There bodies tend to work extra hard in order to create new tissue during faster periods of growth.
Vegetarians are also more likely to have zinc deficiency.
Genetics Plays An Important Role
There will always be individuals who are less likely prone to even getting stretch marks even with unhealthy diets and a lack of vitamins. Many of these individuals are less prone to them because of the role that genetics plays in these lucky individuals.

Stretch Marks During Pregnancy

Stretch marks during pregnancy are a leading concern for many women during and after her pregnancy term. They usually occur on the breasts and tummy as well as on the bottom and thighs and appear as thin reddish streaks. Pregnancy stretch marks are caused by excessive and rapid weight gain. What happens is that the collagen and elastin in the dermal layer of the skin are stretched to the point of breaking. This is located just below the visible layer and is responsible for retaining the skin’s shape and firmness.
These marks represent a flattened, thin epidermis overlying gaps in the dermis left by stretched or torn elastin fibers. They are among the top most problems of the many pregnancy-related issues. They are a large contributor to the self-confidence of many women.
During pregnancy they are very common for many women. These are not a major health concern. They simply mean that a person’s skin is growing and stretching at a rapid rate, which result in small lines on an individual’s stomach and other areas. They can also be caused by a deficiency in zinc.
Stretch Marks are a concern for millions of mothers, both expecting and current. Very emotional times can occur during a women’s pregnancy as well as the post-partum period.
A technique to aid in relieving pregnancy stretch marks is with the use of Laser therapy. Although laser treatment is a safe method, it may also cause discomfort for three weeks. Using lasers to remove stretch marks works because it repairs the skin’s natural synthesis of collagen.
Stretch marks may not look appealing and can really lower a woman’s self-esteem, but they are not as dangerous as they may look. Maintaining a proper diet and regular exercise can also help to prevent stretch marks from even developing in the first place.

Causes Stretch Marks - What Are They?
December 6, 2008 by admin
So what causes stretch marks? They can happen when your skin is stretched for an extended length of time and occurs either by quickly gaining or losing pounds. Over time the fibers in the skin are stretched or pulled to their maximum levels, this in turn will cause scars. While men are less vulnerable to these unwanted lines it’s not peculiar for males to get them. What’s worse is that men can wear different types of clothing to conceal them, while most girls will get some amount of stretch marks within their lifetime and they are much more difficult to hide.
Some of the top reasons for this scarring is that 70% of adolescent girls will get stretch marks and more than 90% of pregnant woman will have them as well. The explanation for this is that teen girls suffer thru quicker growth development as they’re going thru adolescence.
Many females will suffer thru the fatty development of their breasts, their hips may eventually widen and a greater number of changes happen to the teen body. Pregnant girls will have to endure watching their bellies become large as well as other parts of their bodies get larger. Naturally their stomachs will become extremely large for a long period of time.
And with this unexpected expansion comes unavoidable stretch marks. Stretch marks are an even greater risk for women who have red or blonde hair, are dehydrated and have very dry skin. Once these scars are on your body, they can become troublesome, but not entirely impossible, to eliminate.
It is apparent that you don’t have to be overweight or pregnant to get unwanted stretch mark scars. Although they can occur through some sort of hormone activity and not necessarily through quickly gaining and losing weight .
As an interesting point, it is a particularly common skin condition that many individuals may have, but most people who have them may feel embarrassed about having them and will try to cover them up.

Body Stretch Marks - Prevention Is Key
November 28, 2008 by admin
Body stretch marks, also known as striae within the dermatology field, are a type of scarring on the surface of the skin. Stretch marks can occur when the skin is stretched due to issues such as weight gain during pregnancy, or adolescent puberty. On the surface, stretch marks can appear as purple or reddish lines that fade to a lighter color.
The occurrence of stretch marks is usually in areas where large amounts of fat are stored. The abdomen is a common troublesome area, as well as the buttocks, or on and in-between the breasts. You may also find them on the upper part of the arms or legs. The best cure for stretch marks is prevention, but once you have them it is possible to use various creams, and other procedures to help eliminate them.
Stretch Mark Prevention
Prevention is key when it comes to warding off stretch marks. First and foremost is a healthy and nutritious diet. This includes drinking plenty of water to keep the skin soft and less likely to produce marks on the skin. Try to lower your caffeine intake or avoid it altogether. If you do drink coffee or tea then balance it with water. If your diet lacks the necessary vitamins then this may result in unwanted stretch marks as well. A diet rich in vitamins A and C that include oranges, carrots and milk; foods that contain zinc such as fish and nuts; and high protein foods such as eggs can all promote good skin health.
Stretch Mark Lotion
Lotion for stretch marks is readily available and it is advisable to ask your doctor to recommend the right lotion for you. It is also important to talk to your family physician in regards to stretch marks during pregnancy. Talk to your doctor well before your pregnancy begins to stop any stretch marks from actually developing. This will allow time for preventive treatment to begin at the early stages of your pregnancy.
